Gifts to support the work being performed by the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR).

This project aims to create a simple-to-use, interactive and highly visual Building Energy Model and Decarbonization Decision Support Simulation to guide rapid decarbonization of MIT’s campus. It will also be applicable for any other campuses, building clusters or districts. The result will be a simple and freely available Interactive Tool meant for use by engineers, climate leaders or anyone having basic computer skills. This is a project of D-Lab, engaging students in real-world climate learning, including a focus on “MIT as a test bed” for climate action. We are seeking funding to support one or two students’ or post-grad students’ year-long internships. With funding now, we should be able to complete this project in one year (2024).

Gifts to an expendable fund to be used for unrestricted support of the MIT Energy Initiative.

Expendable gifts to support graduate and undergraduate education-related initiatives to expand MIT's model for interdisciplinary energy education including the further development of graduate level experiential learning opportunities and the expansion of the undergraduate energy minor.

Gifts of alumni/ae and friends to support graduate students performing field research or presenting their research results at conferences around the world. These opportunities are vital for timely completion of dissertations and for building new scholarly and professional networks.

Expendable gifts to support sustainable energy-related research in emerging technologies.

Expendable gifts to be distributed at the discretion of the MITEI Director to support student activities on campus around energy.

Expendable gifts to support UROP projects with a focus on energy-related research.

Expendable gifts to support the Clean Energy Education and Empowerment Initiative (C3E) Symposium, a collaboration of the Department of Energy and MITEI.
